Help
Short answers to what hosts ask. If yours isn't here, write to help@simpleinvite.app. A person reads every message.
- Making and sending an inviteNew event is one page. Type the name at the top, fill in the rows under it, add the people, and press Send.
- Signing inYou sign in with your email address and a six-digit code we email you. There is no password, and no separate sign-up: the first time you sign in makes your account.
- Adding peopleOpen Who and pick a group, a past event or a recent person, or type a name. Everyone you add is listed under Selected.
- How the invite reaches peopleWe email the invite, from your name, to everyone on the list with an email address. Anyone with only a mobile number gets their link from you.
- Guests with no email addressWe can only email people we have an address for. Everyone else gets the invite from you, and your event page says how many are left: 4 people with no email haven't answered.
- Sharing one link for everyoneEvery event has one short link for the people you would rather post to than invite by name. Share, on the event page, opens it with a QR code and a poster.
- What your guests seeA link that opens straight onto the invite. There is nothing to sign in to and nothing to download.
- Answering on the shared linkThe event's shared link has no name on it, so before answering, a guest says who they are: a first name, and a mobile or an email.
- What guests can replyGuests can answer on the invite page, or by replying to the invite email. We read the reply, and when we can tell what it says, it counts as their answer.
- When someone changes their mindThey open the same link and press Change, or reply to the email again. Their newest answer replaces the old one, and your count moves the moment it does.
- When a guest's link doesn't openA guest who can't open their invite sees one plain line about why. What it says tells you what happened.
- Nudging the people still pendingYour event page groups everyone who hasn't answered under Pending, with one button beside it: Nudge. Each person's row has its own Nudge too.
- Sending an updateSomething changed. On the event page, open Actions and choose Send update, say what changed in your own words, and press Send.
- Day-of remindersOn the morning of the event, everyone who said yes gets one message with what it is, what time, where, and a map.
- The emails you get as a hostWhen people answer, we wait until the answers have stopped coming for 15 minutes, then send you one email: 3 new answers.
- When an invite doesn't arriveIf an email bounces, the guest's row reads couldn't reach, and a Couldn't reach chip at the top of the list shows everyone it happened to.
- Households, plus-ones, and kidsTwo people who come as a pair are one invite, not two. Sam & Lee get one link, one message, and one answer that counts for both.
- Adding a photoPhoto, on New event or in Edit, puts a picture on the invite. Choose a photo from your device, or one from your earlier invites under Previous photos.
- LooksA look is the style of the invite your guests open. There are eight: Folio, Marquee, Reserve, Atlas, Bento, Aurora, Poster and Lumen. Every event starts in Folio.
- Dates, times and time zonesEvery event has a time zone, and its times are always that zone's clock. A new event takes the zone in Settings; change it for one event with Time zone at the foot of the When editor, where you can search by city.
- Weekly and monthly eventsWhen you make the event, open More, turn on Repeats and pick a rule: every Saturday, every other week, monthly on the fourth Saturday, or Custom for a pattern of your own.
- Copying an event, and draftsCopy event makes a new event from an old one. It is in the event page's Actions menu, and in each event's menu on your Events page.
- Your peoplePeople is everyone you have invited, with their mobile or email, their groups, how often they answered and when you last invited them. Search finds a name, a number, an email or a group.
- The guest list and your calendarGuest list, in the event page's Actions menu, shows everyone with their answer. Download saves it as a spreadsheet; Copy names copies the names to paste into a message.
- Recording who cameFor two weeks after an event, Attendees on its page lets you record who came.
- Paying for an eventAn event is free up to 30 invites. Above that it is $5, paid once, for up to 150. A household counts once.
- Paying for a yearThe year is $39, paid once. It covers every event and every repeating series up to 150 guests for 12 months.
- Receipts and refundsEvery payment gets a receipt by email, from us, the moment it goes through: Your SimpleInvite receipt, with a number of ours.
- Opt-outs and STOPEvery invite email has a link to decline and a link to stop emails about the event. A guest who stops emails gets none from us after that for any of your events.
- SettingsSettings is in the menu under your name. On a computer it opens over the page you are on.
- Putting SimpleInvite on your home screenSimpleInvite runs in your browser, and you can install it so it opens like an app, in its own window, straight onto your events.
- Connecting another appA key lets another program work with your account: make events, add people, send, nudge, send updates, and read who is coming. It works over a REST API and over MCP, for assistants that speak it.
- Cancelling or deleting an eventCancelling tells your guests it's off and keeps the record. Deleting removes the event.
- Deleting your accountSettings, then Delete account. It happens at once, and it cannot be undone.
