New event is one page. Type the name at the top, fill in the rows under it, add the people, and press Send.
The name is the title on the invite and the first thing a guest reads, so call it what you would call it out loud: Backyard cookout. Book club. Mom's 70th. It holds up to 60 characters.
Under the name are seven rows: When, Where, Who, Photo, Notes, Look and More. Tap one to fill it in. On a wide screen its editor opens beside the rows; on a phone it opens as a sheet.
When opens a calendar with quick picks such as Tomorrow, Next weekend and In 2 weeks. The time is optional; without one the invite reads Time to come. Dates, times and time zones has the details.
Where finds a place from a few letters and fills in its address, and My place, once you have saved one, sits at the top of the list. The address draws the map and makes Directions work. A place with no address can still go out: guests see its name until you add one.
Who is where the people go: see Adding people. Photo, Notes and Look are optional. More holds public replies, plus-ones, who sees the guest list, and repeats. Plus-ones start at None.
The button at the bottom reads Send invite and stays off until someone is on the list, then counts them: Send to 15. Save draft keeps the event, its people and its link on your Events page and sends nothing.
Up to 30 invites is free. Past 30, the reason and the price show beside the button before anything goes out: see Paying for an event.
After you send, the page shows who it went to, the event's link with a QR code and a poster, the Allow public replies switch, and Open the event, where answers show up as people reply.
